Mar-17:
Actually, this is the 4th day but I was down with fever yesterday so we stayed at home the whole day, I felt bad for my friend for wasting a whole day indoors. But we made up for it by going to lots of places today. The plan was to go to Ihwa Mural Village, from what I read it is a small residential area with beautiful murals painted on the wall. But what I didn’t read about was that we had to climb up a hill to go there, I’m sure there’s a bus that goes up there but at the time we really had no idea we had to walk for a bit before reaching. It was very exhausting since I was still recovering from fever, but it was worth it!

On the way to the village we saw a wall that stretches across the hill, turns out it’s The Seoul City Wall, built in 1396 by King Taejo to protect the city. I was amazed to find another creation that was from the Joseon Dynasty, so much from that time was preserved or rebuilt, it shows how proud they are and how much they appreciated those times.

To make up for my friend who spent the day with me instead of exploring on her own yesterday, we went to Myeongdong Market because she wanted to shop for brooches. We found that it sells a lot of fabric, traditional clothes (Hanbok), belt buckles and even a space that’s dedicated to buttons only, I’ve never seen so many buttons before. But it just wasn’t what we were looking for… So we decided to have a little stroll along Cheonggeycheon Stream. Though it was tranquil, the cold weather made it a bit hard to enjoy the surroundings, plus we were very-very hungry.

Hanboks galore

A little too fancy for everyday use

It rained buttons LOL

Found a little stream
On our way back we passed by Doota mall, and saw thousands of white roses outside, found that they are LED roses and will light up at night so we decided to come back when it’s dark. It was a spectacular sight! We couldn’t stay long though, again because the weather was too cold and windy.

After warming ourselves with hot chocolate we decided to call it a day and went back home to Itaewon.
